Rabbit Food Singapore

A healthy rabbit diet is built on three layers: unlimited fresh hay first, a measured portion of quality pellets second, and a daily helping of fresh leafy greens third — with treats as a genuinely occasional extra, not a fourth layer.

Choosing a pellet

Look for a plain, high-fibre timothy-based pellet rather than a “muesli-style” mix with seeds, nuts and dried fruit pieces — rabbits tend to selectively eat the tastiest bits out of a muesli mix and leave the rest, which defeats the point of a balanced pellet in the first place.

How much pellet

Pellets are a supplement to hay, not a replacement for it — a measured daily portion (commonly around a quarter cup per kg of body weight, though this varies by age, activity and the specific pellet’s density) alongside effectively unlimited hay is the usual starting point.

Age changes the picture

Young, growing rabbits generally need a richer, alfalfa-based diet than a healthy adult does — if you’re raising a young rabbit, it’s worth checking with an exotic-animal-savvy vet on the right transition timeline to an adult diet.

Every rabbit is different — for anything specific to yours, an exotic-animal-savvy vet is the right source, not a general guide like this one.
